When the event’s focus is cultural change for a global organisation, how do you engage your leaders and help drive positive interaction with the message? AkzoNobel, one of the world’s leading speciality chemicals manufacturers, brought together 220 global managers in the Netherlands over three days to review new business strategies and initiatives.

Engagement

Working closely with Imagination and the communications team at AkzoNobel, we created a beautifully designed Event App. Features such as dynamic voting, word cloud and regular Q&A meant audience opinion fed in real-time to the session content.  Attendees could opt in; a bespoke feature created to support the HR initiative, and submit the text ‘Count me in’, which displayed with their name on the main presentation screen.

Applause

90% of participants found the move from print to the Event App ‘helpful and positive’. All in-app notes and presentations requested were emailed to each participant within two hours of the conference close, reinforcing the push to engage colleagues.
